Raider Softball goes 3 and 3 for the week
On Tuesday, the Portland softball team traveled to Charlotte.
Game 1: Portland 16 – Charlotte 2
Brooke Seal led the Raider offense going three for three with one triple and two RBIs. Madison Lockwood, Jayden Townsend (double), Sophia Novara (double), and Aubrey Faulkner added two hits each. Paige Pung, Stella Durrant and Bella Vanalstine each had one hit. Novara picthed the full game striking out six.
Game 2: Portland 17 – Charlotte 5
Lockwood led the Raiders batting going four of four with a double and five RBIs. Pung had three hits. Seal had two hits including a double. Novara and Vanalstine each had one hit. Novara threw the complete game allowing only three hits while striking out eight.
Portland hosted Ionia on Thursday for a CAAC White matchup. The Raiders would drop both games to the Bulldogs.
On Saturday, the Raiders participated in a tournament in Manistee.
North Muskegon 13 – Portland 9
Townsend led the Raider offense going four for four with five RBIs and her first home run as a Raider. Vanalstine and Seal each had three hits while Pung had one hit. The Raiders led most of the game but an explosive fifth inning was enough for the Norse to pick up the win.
Portland 17 – Brethren 2
Townsend picked up her first high school pitching win while striking out four batters in three innings. Lockwood, Vanalstine, and Meyers each had two hits while Novara and Townsend each had one hit.
