Raider Soccer Tops Charlotte
Portland Girls Varsity Soccer continued CAAC White League play Wednesday with a shutout win over Charlotte 3-0. The Raiders extended their winning streak to 4 games and haven't conceded a goal in the last three straight. Portland got off to a 1-0 lead ten minutes into the first half with a goal from Hannah Schrauben assisted on a cross from Ashely Bower. The score increase 2-0 prior to end of the second half with a goal from Ashley Bower. The Raiders continued to pressure Charlotte's defense looking for additional scoring opportunities. In last two minutes of play in the game Madison Luxmore was able to find the lower right corner of net with a long distance goal from outside the 18 yard line. Katelyn Stanton earned the her third straight shutout of the season in goal for the Raiders.
Girls Varsity Soccer moves to a 5-3 record and 2-1 in the CAAC White Division. They will travel to Ithaca this coming Saturday for the Battle at the Hive soccer tournament.
