Portland Girls Soccer picked up their first win of the season with a big 8-0 win over Bath High School Monday evening. The Raiders dropped their first two games of the season 0-3 against BC Pennfield and a 1-5 lost to Laingsburg this last Friday. Due to almost a dozen players being quarantined the Raiders have had to combine their JV team with their Varsity squad.

Getting off to a strong start against Bath the Raiders put two goals away in the first 8 minutes of play and was able to capitalize with another goal to led 3-0 at the half. Starting the second half just as strong the lady Raiders continued to put the ball in the net. They moved the ball up and down the field finding many different players to score. Alicia Estell finished the game in net for the Raiders getting her first shut out of the season. Scoring for Raiders were Madison Luxmore (3), Kayla Zerfas (2), Molly Johnson, Sami Rushin and Aliyah Rodriguez.

Girls Soccer moves to 1-2 on the season and will face Lansing Catholic Wednesday 21 April at 5:30pm at LCC for the first round of CAAC White League play.
