Raider Bowlers stay hot with wins over Lansing Catholic and Eaton Rapids

The Portland Raiders traveled to Royal Scot to take on Lansing Catholic. In the first game, the girls struggled, but held on for an 8 pin team win. In game 2, the girls came alive and got a convincing victory. Going into Bakers, the girls were up 15-5. They secured the win by taking the first Baker game, 118-100.
Starring for the Raiders was Savanah Sutton with a 178 game and a 283 series. Helping out significantly was Karagan Calley with a 251 series.
The Boys Varsity team won 30-0. High game of the day was Wyatt Spear with a 216 and a two-game series of 393.
The teams also competed on Sunday at Royal Scot in the Kickoff Tournament. Varsity girls finished in 15th place. Boys Varsity finished in 19th place.
On Tuesday, December 9th, the Raiders traveled to Char Lanes to compete against Eaton Rapids.
The Portland girls’ team battled through challenges to secure a victory. In the first game, the team delivered its best performance of the year, posting a score of 604. An injury setback affected the second game, resulting in a loss, but the Raiders rallied in the Baker games, sweeping both to earn a 22–8 win.
Karagan Calley led the Raiders with a two-game series total of 251, followed closely by Joslynn Mitchell with a 233 series.
The Boys Varsity team edged out a 16–14 win. Wyatt Spear led the way with a high game of 247 and a 414 two-game series. Camden Calkins contributed a 213 game and a 379 series, while Tanner Brownell posted a 200 game and a 332 series.
Both Portland teams now stand at 3–0 on the season.
The Raiders’ next competition is Friday, December 12, against Lakewood at Wagon Wheel.
