Raider Baseball with the sweep over Grand Ledge on Senior Night


On Monday, Portland hosted Grand Ledge for a varsity baseball double header.


Raiders win the first game 3-1

Both teams were strong on the mound Monday, but the Raiders lead The way over Grand Ledge with a 3-1 win. Trent Trierweiler went the distance with a victory on the pitcher's mound. The righty surrendered one run on five hits over seven innings, striking out seven. The Raiders fired up the offense in the first inning, when an error scored one run for for Portland.


Mark Meyers, Trierweiler, and Marc Nobis all had one hit to lead the Raiders. Winans took the loss on the mound for Grand Ledge.


The Raiders recognized their 5 Seniors along with their parents tonight in between games. #3 Ryan Leonard, #10 Brady Bush, #17 Jorgen Sonday, #28 Jeremiah Martin and #32 Trent Trierweiler.


Game two the Raiders win 4-1

Another strong pitching performance by Junior, Marc Nobis who got the win for the Raiders. Nobis surrendered one run on five hits over seven innings, striking out seven and walking one. The Raiders and Grand Ledge each had 5 hits and committed 1 error.


Brady Bush was the leading hitter for the Raiders going 2-for-2. Marc Nobis with RBI’s and Bush and Brennan each had one.
