At the Perry Invitational, McKenna Boykin officially broke Portland's long standing career block record held by Sydney Vanmuster (181). Boykin’s six block performance propelled her to a career 183 count.
Boykin's four year varsity career has seen her finish seasons with 28, 72, 72, and 11 blocks. She currently holds multiple college offers but hasn't announced her commitment just yet.
The Raiders have gotten off to a 12-5-1 start this season, bringing home hardware for the second straight weekend.
The Raiders were victorious at the Perry Invitational, defeating Bath in straight sets to take home the title. They followed up the next weekend by having a 4-0-1 day at the Saranac Pink Out Tournament, beating Fremont in a dramatic 3 set match.
Both tournaments showed a team-minded Portland squad that looks to keep energy high heading into the Eaton Rapids Invitational on 9/20.
