Portland Softball Hall of Fame Class of 2023

The Portland Softball Hall of Fame was established in 2019 to recognize players, coaches, teams and contributors who represent the foremost in achievement and lasting impact on Portland Softball. It is our honor to announce that Sarah (Lefke) Townsend has been selected for induction into the Portland Softball Hall of Fame class of 2023.

Sarah Townsend excelled as a player in the Portland Softball program. She started as the varsity shortstop for 3 years and was selected All Conference each year. As a senior, through hard work and dedication, she was named League MVP, Team Captain, Team MVP and received All State Honorable Mention recognition. Sarah went on to play softball at Alma College for 4 years and was selected as a 3rd Team All American. In 2000, Sarah returned to Portland where she started her coaching career. Serving the program as a role model and mentor, she continues to bring her knowledge of fundamentals, her enthusiasm and love of the game to many young athletes.

To celebrate Sarah’s success a ceremony will be held at the annual Jack Anderson Softball tournament on April 15th. Her introduction and plaque unveiling will take place after the second round of games, approximately 1:30 - 2:00 pm.
