Portland’s Evan Gross to continue basketball career at LCC

Portland High School graduate Evan Gross recently signed to continue playing basketball at Lansing Community College next year.

While at Portland, Gross played four years of varsity basketball, two years of varsity football, and one year of varsity track.

On the basketball court he was named All-League 2025, All-Region 2025, All-State Honorable Mention 2025, and he will be playing in the all-star game soon. On the football field he was named All-League 2025, and All-Region 2025.

When asked about his choice to attend LCC, Gross said, “One reason I decided to attend Lansing Community College was connecting with the players during the open gyms I would go to, another reason was the campus and how easy it will be to get to all my classes.”

Gross said, “I would like to thank all my Coaches for pushing me to be the best I could be, my teammates for making this the best senior year I could have had, and my parents and family for always being there and having my back.”
