Portland High School senior Drew Morris recently signed to continue his football career at Albion College next year.

Morris was a two-year starter for the Raiders. He was named CAAC All Conference during his junior season. In his senior year he was named team captain, All Conference, Michigan High School Coaches Association All Region and All State. He was also selected as part of the Lansing area dream team as an offensive lineman.

Morris told the Beacon, “I chose to attend Albion College because of the great atmosphere that the coaches created. I will also have the chance to further my academic and football career at Albion, which is an amazing opportunity.”

The Britons of Albion College compete at the NCAA III level and are members of the Michigan Collegiate Athletic Association.

Morris added, “I would like to thank all the coaches in the football program especially Coach Brooks, Coach Novara, and Coach Noak. They have all been excellent coaches along with life mentors, without them and my teammates pushing me along the way, I would not have the chance to play college football. I would also like to thank my parents and family members for supporting me at all my games. A special thanks to Andrew Maynard and Braden Kehr because they were in the weight room every day working just as hard pushing me to my hardest.”
