James Townsend

The Portland baseball team traveled to Williamston on Monday night to take on the Hornets in the opening round of the Diamond Classic.
Portland won the game by a score of 5-1.
Trent Trierweiler and Hunter Morris each had three hits for the Raiders. Alex Russman added two hits while Brady Bush added one.
Marc Nobis pitched the complete game for Portland while striking out four and only allowing four Williamston hits.
With the win, Portland advances to take on Grand Ledge. That game is currently scheduled for Thursday at 5:00 at Grand Ledge, but will likely be rescheduled due to a conflict with Portland’s commencement ceremony.
