Portland Baseball on Six Game Win Streak

The Portland High School varsity baseball game is currently on a six game win streak.

Tuesday 5/11

Game 1: Portland 9 – Charlotte 0

Grant Ruddy, Trent Trierweiler, and Trevor Williams (double) each had two hits for the Raiders while Alex Russman, Hunter Morris, Reese Townsend (double) and Jorgen Sonday each had one hit. Trierweiler pitched the complete game striking out 13 Oriole batters.

Game 2: Portland 8 – Charlotte 1

Morris led the Raiders going three for four with one RBI. Ruddy, Sonday, Russman and Williams added two hits each, while Trierweiler and Brady Bush added one hit each. Morris and Bush teamed up on the mound to strike out five Charlotte batters.

Thursday 5/13

Game 1: Portland 17 – Saranac 2

Trierweiler went four for four in this game. Sonday and Marc Nobis added three hits each. Portland tallied 18 hits in the game. Nobis and Morris took the mound for the Raiders striking out five Saranac hitters.

Game 2: Portland 21 – Saranac 3

Trierweiler led the Raiders with three hits while Ruddy, Townsend, Sonday and Nobis had two hits each. Russman picked up the win on the mound with Morris and Bush coming in in relief.

Saturday 5/15

Game 1: Portland 9 – Freeland 3

Trierweiler, Ruddy and Nobis had two hits each. Russman, Morris and Bush each had one hit. Nobis threw the complete game allowing only six hits while striking out three.

Game 2: Portland 14 – Ionia 2

Ruddy led the Raiders going four of five at the plate. Trierweiler, Morris, Sonday, Nobis and Bush each had two hits, while Townsend and Williams each had one hit. Trierweiler got the win on the mound pitching seven innings and striking out five.
