PHS Boys Bowling advances to Team States, Alec McGinnis advances to Individual States

On Thursday, the Portland Boys Bowling team finished in 3rd place at Regionals to Qualify for States. The Raiders were led by Jack McBride who had his personal best high game of 235 and Alec McGinnis who had a 237 game in the final game. PHS Boys coach Dan Graef said, "This is everyone’s first time qualifying for States as a team."

On Friday, the Raiders competed in the singles portion of Regionals. Alec McGinnis led for most of the day but needed to throw a double in the last frame to secure his victory, which he did. This is Alec’s first time qualifying for States as a single competitor. Jack McBride missed making it to States by 12 pins finishing in 12th place.

The Girls finished in 8th place and did not qualify for States. On the singles side Lilly Keller finished in 16th place.

States will be at Jax60 in Jackson, MI.
