On Thursday the Portland varsity bowling teams competed in the Team portion of Regionals.

The girls finished in 5th place out of 12 teams. Abby Kreiner had the high game of the day with a 158 and high series with a 285.  Savanah Sutton had a 284 two game series.

The boys made some history being the first Portland Boys team to win Regionals.  They won by 71 pins.  They were led by Nate Pierce who had a high game of 229 and a two game series of 428.

On Friday the teams competed in the singles portion of Regionals.

Lily Keller was our highest bowler finishing in 12th place.  Abigail Kreiner, a junior finished in 20th, Keira Moffatt another freshman finished 28th place and Savanah Sutton another freshman finished in 29th place. Addyson Thomas, a junior, finished in 33rd place.  The future is bright for the girls program.

On the boys side we had 2 qualifiers and a handful that just missed. Zack McAllister finished in 3rd place.  Dre Cross overcame a very slow start to claim the final spot with a 7th place finish.  All together the Portland team had 5 of the top 12 bowlers but sadly only the top 7 got to move on.  Alec McGinnis finished in 10th place, Paul Roberts finished in 11th place, and Eli Dakin finished in 12th place.  Our long senior Jack McBride finished in 33rd place.  This will be Zack's and Dre's first time qualifying for individual states.

States will be next weekend, March 1st and 2nd at Jax60 in Jackson.
