PFCU Credit Union Announces New President/CEO and Executive Vice President

The PFCU Credit Union Board of Directors has named Michele Makley as the next President/CEO of the Credit Union. An experienced credit union executive, Michele will succeed Harvey Hoskins and assume responsibilities on January 1, 2023. Mr. Hoskins announced his retirement last month.

Thinking of her new role, Makley shared what she looks most forward to, “All the change I see coming within our industry because with that change comes opportunity for continued growth.” She went on to say, “PFCU will continue to lead with mobile-first technology and a consistent experience whether in branch or on your mobile device. We recognize the need for members to have easy, dependable and convenient access to their accounts. We have a forward-thinking team here at PFCU, and I’m so proud to have the honor to be their next leader. “

Over her career, Makley has acquired 29 years of financial management experience and executive leadership across all functional areas. Makley and her family reside in Lake Odessa and she continues to be involved with the community through various roles. She formerly served as the Treasurer for the Lake Odessa Chamber and she currently serves on several community boards and programs including: Ionia County Habitat for Humanity, Grand River Chapter of Credit Unions, Treasurer for the Lakewood Youth Baseball Club and the Lakewood High School Career and Technical Education Committee.

With Makley announced as President/CEO, the position of Executive Vice President will be filled by Joe Krieger. He has been with the Credit Union for the past nine years, serving as the SVP of Lending. Krieger and his family reside in Lowell, and he is active in their community. He has coached girls and boys basketball, little league, and is a member of the CUES Michigan Council Board of Directors. When asked about what sets PFCU apart, Krieger said, “Our employees are what truly separate us from all other options our members have, and I am very excited to continue working with our teams to positively impact the lives of our employees and members.”
