Vivian June Wheeler, of Portland, died on December 9, 2025, at the age of 95. She was the daughter of Wade and Florence (Norwood) Buckley. Vivian married Ken Wheeler, and the couple shared 70 years together, spending many winters in Florida. Vivian and Kenny had a passion for dancing and were quite experienced at dancing the polka. Vivian was an avid sports fan who particularly liked keeping up with the MSU and Detroit Lions teams. She and her husband Kenny also enjoyed snowmobiling with their friends, playing Euchre and occasional trips to the casino. Another gift Vivian was well known for were the beautiful wedding cakes she decorated for many couples over the years.
Vivian was preceded in death by her husband and parents; grandsons Joshua Hoskins, Jeremy Smith, and Jordan Smith; her brother, Bob (Judy) Buckley; as well as her sisters, Marilyn (Ray) Shaw and Betty (Dick) Robinson.
She leaves behind a loving family which includes her children Jerry (Lorraine) Wheeler of Stanton, Debbie (Harvey) Hoskins of Portland, Lori (Terry) Lynn of Lansing, Tami Rife of Defiance, OH, Christopher Wheeler of Portland and Andy (Angie) Wheeler of Grand Ledge along with 11 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren, 2 great- great- grandchildren and her sister, Patsy Buckley and sister in law, Rosemary Harrington. Also leaving behind is life long friend Patty Vroman who was like a sister to her.
The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at Lehman Funeral Home in Portland. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers those wishing to do so may make a donation to Heart to Heart Hospice.
