Obituary for Tyler Donevan Schafer

Tyler Donevan Schafer, age 27, of Lansing, passed away on September 13, 2021. He was born in Lansing, Michigan on April 17, 1994. Tyler was a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, and friend to all he knew. He was a hard worker and his children were his everything.

Preceding Tyler in death are his grandpa, Jerry Sorrow; grandpa, Jerry Smith; grandparents, Gene and Sandra Kay VanSiclen; grandpa, Gayle Bigford; and uncle, Randy VanSiclen. Left on Earth to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 4 years, Sabrina Schafer; children, Trinidee and Trake Schafer; mother, Rachael (Eric) Moore; father, Scott (Zelpha) Schafer; in-laws, Terry (Rachel) VanSiclen; in-laws, Tera (Merlin) Miles; siblings, Marc (fiancé, Miranda) Smith, Dylan Schafer, Nicholas Schafer, Josh Rugg, Tyler Shaw, Paige (Destiny) Schafer, Breanna Schafer, Dakota Schafer, Leland Miller, Brittany Miller, and Alexus Moore; and former stepmother, Melissa Shaw. A special thank you to Lisa Geoffrion for all of the kindness and compassion shown during this difficult time.

The Funeral Service will be officiated by Rev. Dr. Marilyn V. Danielson at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at the Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland. Interment will follow at Danby Township Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home on Wednesday.
