Obituary for Theresa Ann (Hufnagel) Burnham
Theresa Ann Burnham, age 86, of Portland passed away on February 7, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Pewamo, MI on February 3, 1936, the daughter of Herman and Bernita Hufnagel. On October 26, 1957, Theresa married Charlie Burnham and they shared 37 years together, raising 6 children. Theresa enjoyed going out to eat and car rides. She was known to some of her grandchildren as “Old Grandma”; Theresa liked camping, sitting around the campfire, and family get-togethers. One could often find her on the slide and swings playing with her great-grandchildren. She could be easily talked into getting an ice cream cone and a casino trip. Theresa and her husband, Charlie helped out Santa and Mrs. Claus at Christmas time until his passing. She also helped out at the concession stand at the Portland Trail Riders Motorcycle Club.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Burnham; daughter, Cheryl; sons-in-law, Jerry Forquer and Joe Marks; sisters, Helen Hufnagel and Elaine Thelen; brother, Leon Hufnagel; and sister-in-law, Karen Hufnagel. Surviving Theresa are her children, Diane (Chuck) Wohlscheid, Dave (Mary) Burnham, Helen Richmond, Donna Marks (Mark), and Charles Burnham; grandchildren, Val Wohlscheid (Rob), Tony (Danielle) Wohlscheid, Christopher Burnham, Kailey (Lance) Gilbert, Courtney (Ben) Davis, Brandon (Jenna) Richmond, Audrey (Corban) Robbe, Becky (Mark) Reffitt, Jessica (Cody) Miller, and Jake Marks; great-grandchildren, Alex and Ben Wohlscheid, Wyatt and Oliver Gilbert, Luca Davis, Sophia and Ella Robbe, Gavin, Liam, and Ezra Beckett, and Autumn, Jack, and Noah Reffitt; sisters, Gladys (Tim) Wright, Germaine (Dave) Smith, Janice (Dan) Ridenour, Carol (Paul) Wohlfert; brother-in-law, Gene Thelen; and many nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Service will be officiated by Pastor Joe Robbe at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 10, 2022 at the Lehman Funeral Home. Interment will follow in North Eagle Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 5-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the funeral service on Thursday at the funeral chapel, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland.
