Obituary for Susan Eileen (Tope) Cox

Susan Eileen Cox was born September 12, 1938 in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan to Clarence and Mildred (Barnes) Tope. She grew up in Midland, Michigan. She married her soulmate, James Clark Cox on February 18, 1972 and he preceded her in death in October 2016. They had one son, Robert Cox of Portland, Michigan. She had two brothers, Thomas Tope and James Tope who predeceased her. Her parents and in-laws, James and Lucile Cox, two brothers-in-law, John Cox and Jerry Cox, and sister-in-law, Ginger (Tom) Cox also preceded her in death. She was an executive secretary for Midland Ross Corporation, Diamond Reo Corporation, and St. Mary's Hospital (Nevada). She then became a legal secretary and paralegal for attorneys in Nevada, California and Michigan. Surviving are her son and his wife, Robert and Chastity Cox; grandchildren, Kyle Cox and Ashley Cox; and special step-grandchildren, Hannah, Nathan, and Ruby Mund. She loved spending time with her family, as well as gardening, cooking, watching sports, and playing games of all types. A Memorial Service honoring Susan's Life will be officiated by Pastor Jimmy Guffey at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 13, 2021 at the Portland Church of the Nazerene, 9466 Cutler Road, Portland, MI 48875.
