Obituary for Sherilyn L. (Burgess) Thomas

Sherilyn Thomas, of Portland, passed away on July 6, 2022 at home after a long illness. She was born on May 28, 1938, she was the daughter of Irven and Marie Burgess of Portland. She married Philip Thomas on August 31, 1957. They were married 60 years and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Glen Burgess, sister, Kay Creighton and brother-in-law, Charles Thomas. Sherilyn enjoyed playing cards, bowling, and spending time with her family. Sherilyn and Phil liked camping at East Tawas, gambling, and traveling to Texas in the winter. She is survived by children, Debra (Tim) Colley of Ionia, Dennis (Tina) Thomas of Houston, TX, Denise (Bill) Epps of Ionia, and Diane Moore (Tom Harrington) of Delton; 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; sister in-law, Marlene Thomas, brothers- and sisters-in law, Larry (Rosie) Thomas, Robert (Pat) Thomas, and William (Barb) Thomas; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. The Funeral Service will be conducted by Pastor Letisha Bowman at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 11, 2022 at the Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland.
