Robert Louis Pline, of Portland, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2026 at the age of 82. Bob was born in Westphalia on December 16, 1943, the son of Ferdinand and Marian (Thomas) Pline. Bob was a longtime member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #2168. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force, retiring as a Master Sergeant after 21 years of dedicated service. In his free time, Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, and woodworking- finding joy in working with his hands and spending time outdoors. Above all, he cherished his family, his Catholic faith, and his country.
Preceding Bob in death are his parents; brothers, Donald and Richard Pline; sister, Betty Weese; and brothers-in-law, Lyle Braley and Daniel Reichley. Surviving are his loving wife of 56 years, Linda Pline; children, Steve (Lori) Pline and Karen (Joseph) Jonaitis; grandchildren, Cole (Elise Van Stensel) Pline, Allison Pline, Jessica (T.J. Bocanegra) Jonaitis, and Kyle Jonaitis; sister, Judy Braley; sisters-in-law, JoAnn Pline, Sue (Robert) Dingus, Rebecca Long, and Lynn Reichley; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Thursday, February 19, 2026 from 4-7 p.m. at the Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland. The rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Logan Weber at 11:30 a.m., Friday, February 20, 2026 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Portland. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Westphalia. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to the American Diabetes Association or the Wounded Warriors Project in honor of Bob.
