Obituary for Nicholas John Sonday

Nicholas John Sonday, age 15, of Sumner, MI, passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2021. He was born on

October 11, 2005 in Grand Rapids the son of John and Gwen (Barnes) Sonday. Nicholas is now free and at peace after a lifetime struggle with Down Syndrome. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Rita Sonday and Bill and Judy Barnes. Surviving are his parents, Gwendolyn (Steve Sterman) Sonday and John (Bobbi Sedelmaier) Sonday; twin sisters, Elizabeth and Rebecca Sonday; special aunt, Auntie Beaner and many, many aunts, uncles, and cousins. The Funeral Service will be conducted by Rev. Todd Hoskey at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge St., Portland. Rite of Committal will follow at Portland Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m., on Wednesday at the funeral home.
