Obituary for Marjorie Elaine (Dean) Myers
Marjorie Elaine Myers, age 88, of Portland, passed away at her home on November 3, 2020. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she was born on February 27, 1932 in Grand Ledge, Michigan to Forest and Mildred (Morris) Dean. Marjorie was a strong and hard-working woman who made sure everyone was well taken care of around her. She worked in the Cider Press at Iler’s Orchard in Portland for many years and also at Hoover’s and the Tri-Level Inn. Marjorie’s family was well loved by her, she baked the most delicious bread, pecan pie, and gingerbread for them. She was also known as a wonderful cook, especially for her homemade whipped cream, butter, and potato salad. She enjoyed the holidays’ and birthdays’ and was sure to never miss an “event”. On June 28, 1952, Marjorie married the love of her life, Eno “Pete” Myers and they shared 68 years of marriage together.
Preceding Marjorie in death are her parents; brother and sister, Richard Allen Dean and Frances Miller; and daughter-in-law, Marlene Myers. Surviving are her husband, Eno “Pete” Myers; children, Linda (Peter) Ferrara of North Port, FL, Gregory Myers of Sunfield, Judy (William) Kirkland of Hope Mills, NC, and Michael Myers of Sunfield; grandchildren, Adam (Kristina) Myers, Shannon (Shawn) Rinehart, Seth Myers, and Oriana (fiancé, Chris Kinne) Ferrara; great-grandchildren, Olivia Myers, Kaylie Rinehart, Elizabeth Rinehart, Baylee Myers, Tristan Kinne, Virginia Myer, and Cole Myer; and special friend, Donna Perry.
The Funeral Service will be officiated by Pastor Letisha Bowman at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 9, 2020 at the Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland. Interment will follow at Danby Township Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral chapel. Arrangements are entrusted to Lehman Funeral Homes.
