Obituary for Kelly Denise Wohlscheid

Kelly Denise Wohlscheid, age 49, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on September 8, 2021 after a courageous, long six-year battle with cancer. Kelly was born on March 20, 1972 in Lansing, Michigan to Gary and Patty (Mleko) Wohlscheid, Sr. She graduated from Portland High School in 1990. Kelly had a passion for nature, being independent, cooking, growing plants, and art. She was strong, resilient, had a kind soul and was good to others. She had the biggest heart and touched many lives by just being herself and caring for others. Above all, Kelly adored her three daughters and loved to spend time and make memories with them.

Preceding Kelly in death are her grandparents, Charles and Frances Wohlscheid and George and Sally Mleko. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, MaKayla, Elisha, and Savannah; parents, Gary, Sr. and Patty; brothers, Larry (Mary) and Gary, Jr. (Rocio); sisters, Beth and Heather (Chris); many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Tony and Janet.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Mike Alber at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 1, 2021 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Portland.
