Obituary for Joyce A. (Riley) (Clements) Phillips

Joyce Arlene Phillips, 89, of Sunfield, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2023. She was born in Ashley, Michigan, the daughter of Clayton and Martha (Beck) Riley. Joyce was a lifelong member of the Portland Church of the Nazarene and she graduated from Portland High School Class of 1950. Joyce was a loving and caring homemaker, being sure that everyone was well taken care of around her. She enjoyed gardening and lived on a farm for many years. Joyce will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Preceding Joyce in death are her parents; first husband, Roland Clements in 1992; second husband, Robert Phillips; and sister, Carol (Marvin) Sandborn. Surviving are her children, Michael (Joan) Clements and Patricia (Michael) Peters; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and brother, Lee (Elaine) Riley.

The Funeral Service will be conducted by Pastor Jimmy Guffey at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at the Portland Church of The Nazarene. The family will receive visitors at the church beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. A luncheon will follow the funeral service at the church prior to interment at Oakwood Cemetery.
