Obituary for John Edward Hillis II

John Edward Hillis II, age 30, of Portland, passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2021. He was born in Lansing, Michigan on February 17, 1991 to John E. and Diane M. (Cooper) Hillis, Sr. John enjoyed blacksmithing, forging, and building his shed at the house. He was a true outdoorsman. Most of all, John loved spending time with his family and friends and playing with his nieces and nephews.

Preceding John in death are his grandparents, Edward and Mary Hillis and John and Mildred Cooper. He is survived by his parents, John Sr. and Diane Hillis; siblings, Johnna Hillis, Dawn Hillis, Brian (Teresa) Hillis, Jackie Hillis, Brandi Welch, Jenny (Ryan) Fedewa, Tammy (Jonathon) Bair, Laura (Sim) Virk, Cheryl (Jason) Tennihill; many nieces and nephews; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friends.

A Celebration of John’s Life will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 27, 2021 at the Grand River Conservation Club, 7345 Lyons Road, Portland, Michigan. Arrangements are entrusted to Lehman Funeral Homes. Online condolences may be made at www.lehmanfuneralhomes.com.
