Obituary for George Leon Miller

George Leon Miller, age 85, of Lyons, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away at home on January 28, 2021. He was born in Lyons, the son of George M. and Anna (Spitzley) Miller. George was a life-long farmer, worked construction, and drove a semi-truck for several years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping in his spare time. He was a member of the Grand River Conservation Club in Portland and the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Lansing.
Preceding George in death are his parents; 4 brothers; 3 sisters; and daughters, Kareen (Bill) Sage and Janice (Ted) Thelen. He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Lois (Johnston) Miller; children, Patrick Miller, Marian Dyer, Timothy (Marcia) Miller, Charlie (Debbie) Miller, Gary Miller, and Sandy (Bob) Martin; 18 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Larry (Kathy) Miller; and sister-in-law, Florence Johnston.
The graveside service will be held in the spring. The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 3-6 p.m. at the Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland.
