Obituary for Eugenie E. Whitworth

Eugenie Elizabeth Whitworth of Muir passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026, at the age of 70. She was a loving mother, grandmother and the heart of the family. She was known for her laugh that filled a room and her way of making everyone feel seen. Eugenie taught us how to love fiercely, forgive freely, and to show up for one another.  Her home was always open, her coffee always hot, and her advice always honest. She also loved to travel, especially in her van, camping was also something she enjoyed. Eugenie was born in Miami, Florida but she did spend part of her life in Texas and New York before finally settling in Michigan.

Eugenie was preceded in death by her mother Janet Imogene Davis and her brother Marty.

She is survived by her children Maria Greer, Martin Greer, and Jon (Teela) Greer, and grandchildren Jade Lown, Destin (Alyssa Gawthrop) Lown, Maccee Flowers, Ember Brooks, Liam Greer, Taybree Crampton-Knopf, Morgan McClain, Jalynn Baker, Trinity, Deven, Isaac Greer, and Cameron Greer.

The Celebration of Life will take place at 6:00 p.m., February 22, 2026 at Root 12 Bar and Grill at 29284 US-12, Sturgis, Michigan, 49091.
