Obituary for Emmett Watson

Emmett Watson, age 89, of Portland, died on Saturday, October 31, 2020.  He was born on March 9, 1931 in Detroit. He was a member of the Congregational Church in Lake Odessa. Emmett served his country in the U.S. Army from 1948-1952 and was a member of the American Legion as well as the Masonic Fraternity and a Saladin Temple Shriner. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Judith; daughters, Kathleen Griffes and Patricia (John) Sabin both of Grand Rapids; sons, Blake (Collene) Watson of Jenison, Todd Watson of Cedar Springs, and Jordan (Lacey) Watson of Portland, as well as 9 grandchildren. Emmett would wish to be remembered as a caring and proud husband, father, grandfather and friend. Per his wishes, cremation will take place and a family service will take place at a later date.
