Obituary for Dean Edward Smith

Dean Edward Smith, age 67, of Portland, passed away on October 9, 2021. Dean was born on January 15, 1954 to Milton and Doris (Mills) Smith. He loved sports and was a dedicated MSU Spartan fan. Dean enjoyed music and spending time at his cottage on Clifford Lake. His greatest joy was his family and the time he spent with them making countless memories that will be cherished forever.

Preceding Dean in death are his parents, Milt and Doris Smith; brothers, David and Dee Smith; sister, Patricia Smith; father and mother-in-law, Anthony and Norma Simon; and brother-in-law, Steven Simon. Dean is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Judy (Simon) Smith; daughters, Kelly (William) Foren and Lyndsy (Travis) Smith; granddaughter, Wynnie Foren; grandson, Wyatt Foren; siblings, Barbara (Jeff) Wright of Alaska, Donald Smith of Portland, Dennis (Maggie) Smith of Massachusetts, and Yvonne (Jim) Rowe of Shelby; in-laws, Larry (Sandy) Simon, Kathy Lehman, Annette (Brian) Fedewa, Dennis (Gladys) Simon, Mary (John) Black, Anthony (Teresa) Simon, and Teresa (Dennis) Martin; many nieces and nephews; and Max.
