Obituary for David Lawrence Keilen
David Lawrence Keilen, 61, of Portland, passed away on December 7, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on June 1, 1960, the son of Leon and Agnes (Koenigsknect) Keilen. Dave was a faithful member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and the Catholic Order of Foresters. He owned and operated, D&E Electric and was proud to work alongside his son, Grant. Dave loved spending time at the cottage with his family, who meant the absolute world to him.
Preceding Dave in death are his in-laws, Donald and Ruth Spitzley; brothers-in-law, Clarence and Clare Spitzley; and nephew, Adam Keilen. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 38 years, Elaine Keilen; children, Grant (Tonya) Keilen, Ryan (Kourtney) Keilen, Ruth (Caleb) Beckett, and Kendra (Brandyn) Scutt; grandchildren, Brooke, Evan, Klaire, and Brady Keilen, Lila Beckett, and soon-to-be, Raidyn Scutt; parents, Leon and Agnes Keilen; siblings, Marge (Bob) Varty, Richard (Joany) Keilen, Mary Lou Keilen, Judy Engman, Ann (Ray) Thelen, Ken (Ann) Keilen, Grace (Al) Wirth, John (Josie) Keilen, Bill (Kim) Keilen, Dale (LuAnn) Keilen, and Jenny (Dan) Pohl; Spitzley in-laws, Diane (Louis) Smith, Janice (Bruce) Fyan, Allen (Julie) Spitzley, Eugene (Gail) Spitzley, and Marilyn (Gary) Schneider; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Mike Alber at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, December 11, 2021 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Portland. Rite of Committal will follow at Portland Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland and again on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at St. Patrick Catholic Church.
