Obituary for David E. Hillyard

David E. Hillyard, of Lakeland, Florida, formerly of Portland passed away peacefully on July 2, 2024 at the age of 92. He was born in Medina, New York on December 17, 1931 to Earl A. and Pearl A. (Goetze) Hillyard. David retired after many years of service from General Motors. He enjoyed sprint car races, playing euchre and poker, spending time in the outdoors, and square dancing with his wife, Lorraine. Preceding David in death are his beloved wife, Lorraine Hillyard; parents; brother, Charles Hillyard, and son; Thomas Hillyard.  Surviving David are his daughters, Arlene Schneider and Elaine (Larry) Hayes, grandchildren; Brian (Bethany) Schneider and Brianna Schneider, and great-grandchildren; David, Audra, and Rowan Schneider. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 8, 2024 at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Lansing, MI. Online condolences may be made at www.lehmanfuneralhomes.com.
