Obituary for Cheryl Lynn Parmalee
Cheryl Lynn Parmalee, age 57- resident of Portland, MI, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2021 surrounded by her children. Cheryl was born on January 23, 1964 in Merced, CA. Cheryl’s father was in the Air Force so she grew up traveling the country but graduated from high school in Chandler, AZ.
Cheryl enjoyed spending time with her kids, making trips to see her siblings and parents, going to the beach, being warm, sipping a margarita (not made with sweet/sour mix), online shopping (she had impeccable taste), watching endless hours of The Food Network, drinking coffee (mostly to hold the hot cup- we told you she liked to be warm), quilting/sewing, jewelry-making, reading, playing classical guitar, harassing her children (just for fun), country music, and cooking (everybody LOVED her cooking).
Cheryl is survived by her five children: Scott (Erin, Bristol, Charlotte), Mike (Kate and Ophelia), Travis, Shea (Ryan), and Cade (Jada); her siblings: Joe (Jody), Tracy (Walter), and Michelle (Michael); and by her father: Joseph.
Through her battle with illness, she taught her children to be strong and resilient, to never give up on your dreams and goals, and to always put your family first. Her passing leaves a hole that can never be filled, but it brings great peace to her family and friends to know that she can live her life free of pain and suffering.
Cheryl, and her family, would like to thank everyone who has shown their love and support throughout the years.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at Epic Community Church in Portland, MI from 6:30 - 8 pm. All who loved Cheryl are welcome. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Cheryl's family in her memory. Online condolences may be made at www.lehmanfuneralhomes.com.
