Obituary for Blanche "Judy" (Williams) Bongard
Age 81, passed away, Monday, March 21, 2022. Judy was born, April 17, 1940 in Weidman, MI, the daughter of Ercil and Oral (Gross) Williams. Judy is survived by her husband of 63 years, Sherrill, who she married on September 24, 1958 in Reed City, MI. A Portland area resident most of her life, Judy was an active member of the Portland First Baptist Church for over 40 years where she served the Lord proudly. Judy enjoyed speaking to Christian Women’s groups throughout the state of Michigan and neighboring states with Stonecroft Ministries. In her spare time Judy loved to make quilts and sew with her mother. She also cherished her time as a volunteer for Hospice in Lansing for 10 years. A loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who will be dearly missed. Judy was preceded in death by her father, Ercil, mother-in law, Wilma Henderson, sister, JoAnn, mother, Oral, and sister, Mary Jo. Judy is survived by her siblings, Jane (Dick) Duffey (Howard City, MI) and Jan Thompson (Phoenix, AZ) as well as her children, Nanette (Kirk) Ginther (Potterville, MI), Kevin (Katarina) Bongard (Huntsville, Utah), and Darren (Maureen) Bongard (Lexington, MI); 5 grandchildren, Branden (Brittney), Brielle, Tate, Riley, and Kenny, as well as 4 great-grandchildren, Aylee, Parker, Maddi, and Boston.
Visitation will be at the Lehman Funeral Home, 210 E. Bridge Street, Portland from 4-7 PM on Thursday, March 24, 2022. A Funeral Service will be held Friday , March 25, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Portland First Baptist Church with the Reverend Jane Duffey officiating. Interment will take place in the Flake Cemetery in Barryton, MI following the luncheon for close friends and family. Memorial contributions may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice in memory of Judy.
