There was a key Portland achievement from yesterday’s MHSAA Golf Regional. Individually for the Raiders:

Isaac’s score of 83 earned him one of only three, non-team qualifying golfers that move on from each of the six D3 Regional sites to play in the D3 State Finals.

Junior, Kaleb Bower and sophomore Layne Painter carded near bogey rounds with a pair of 93’s. Sophomore Carter Higbee managed to rebound from a frightful start on the back nine with a forty-eight on the front nine to finish with a 108. After starting his eighteen-hole round playing near bogey golf early on, Sophomore, Trent Durrant ended is round with a 110.

“Best of luck” to Isaac has he closes his high school golf career at next Friday’s and Saturday’s thirty-six-hole Division 3 State Finals being played at MSU’s Forest Akers West Golf Course in East Lansing.
