Meredith and Brown Finish in Upper Level at MHSAA Division 4 Championship

Portland cross country was represented by  two St. Patrick runners at the Division 4 State Championship meet at Michigan International Speedway on Saturday.   Ellayne Meredith (Fr.) and Cozette Brown (So.)  finished 77th and 82nd respectively out of 232 participating girl cross country runners.  Ellayne finished the 5K course in a time of 22 minutes, 4 seconds.  She was followed close behind by Cozette who hit the finish line at 22 minutes, 9 seconds.

The Division 4 individual girls champion was Junior Makenna Scott of Maple City Glen Lake.  Scott ran the course in 19 minutes, 30 seconds. Lansing Christian won the overall team championship.
