Madison Luxmore to continue soccer career at Grace Christian University
Portland High School senior Madison Luxmore recently signed to continue her soccer career at Grace Christian University.
Luxmore was a standout on the PHS girls soccer team and a record setting kicker for the Raider football team. She also competed in Cross Country her freshman year.
Luxmore told the Beacon, “I choose Grace not only for its academic opportunities but also for its athletic opportunities. When considering schools I wanted to look at all aspects of a school. One of the main things I wanted in a college was a Christ-centered campus and atmosphere. At Grace, I was able to find that spirit alive on campus. After speaking with my coach and some of the players, it was very obvious that this lifestyle was present in everyone which drew me to this school more. Finally, when looking into their academics, I discovered that I would graduate with not one but two bachelor's degrees! When I graduate from Grace I will be ending my four years with a degree in Biblical Leadership and Exercise Science. This is possible because I will be dual-enrolled in Cornerstone as well.”
Luxmore added, “I am excited to start this new chapter in my life! I've been in Portland since pre-school and I'm blessed to get the opportunity to continue my athletic and academic careers beyond here.”
Located in Grand Rapids, MI, “Grace Christian University seeks to develop passionate servants of Jesus Christ by personally educating students in an educational program which emphasizes the integration of biblical truth, ministry experience, and character transformation. This emphasis pervades the entire campus as the College strives to cultivate a caring learning community where Jesus Christ is exalted and students are equipped for serving the needs of church and society.”
The Tiger athletic programs compete at the NCAA Division II level.
