Local McDonald’s Owner Honored with Prestigious Ronald Award

Mike Rodewald, a McDonald’s Owner/Operator serving several Michigan communities, has been honored with the esteemed Ronald Award, one of the highest accolades presented by McDonald’s Corporation. The award was presented on October 9 during a celebration at McDonald’s global headquarters in Chicago.

The Ronald Award is one of the highest honors given to McDonald's Owner/Operators. It is awarded to the top 1 percent of McDonald’s Owner/Operators across the country who have made outstanding contributions to strengthening McDonald’s brand image and serving their customers and local communities.

Rodewald owns and operates McDonald’s restaurants in Big Rapids, Edmore, Lakeview, Mt. Pleasant, Portland, Shepherd, and Stanton. In addition to running multiple successful restaurants, Rodewald serves as President of the McDonald’s of Michigan Owner/Operator Business Association, which represents 130 local franchisees operating more than 500 McDonald’s restaurants across Michigan.

Rodewald’s connection to McDonald’s runs deep. His father, Eric Rodewald, began working for McDonald’s in Grand Rapids at the age of 16 in 1974, eventually becoming an Owner/Operator in 1996. Mike joined the family business in 2007, gaining hands-on experience in his father’s restaurants before becoming an Owner/Operator in 2014. His brother, Andrew Rodewald, is also a McDonald’s Owner/Operator, with locations in Ionia and Montcalm counties.
