The PFCU athlete of the month award at Portland High School goes to the student who is just that each and every month of the school year, – that is, assuming he or she is in good academic and behavioral standing, this award goes to the individual each month who was consistently that month’s best athlete and led their team to success.
Monthly winners receive a plaque at awards night and are entered into a drawing for a $500 scholarship from PFCU.
Senior Lilly Thelen has been named the December Athlete of the Month.
Thelen has been a driving force behind her team’s outstanding 5–1 record this month. She leads the team offensively, averaging 16.5 points per game, while also contributing across the stat sheet with 3.8 rebounds and 3 assists per game. Defensively, Lilly has been exceptional, averaging 4.2 steals per game. Her ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor, combined with her leadership and consistency, has been instrumental in her team’s success.
We recently posted something about October winners Owen Moore and Andrew Feldpausch. Unfortunately, we did not have a photo of them at that time, so we have included it with this announcement.
Congratulations to the PHS athletes.
