Lake Odessa Fair to kick off on June 22nd

The Lake Odessa Fair is just days away and this years event promises to bring the community plenty of entertainment and fun!

Fair Board President Bill King shares, “after Covid in 2020 and devastating rains for our 2021 event, we are looking forward to five incredible days to bring everyone together again!”

The fair officially kicks off on Wednesday June 22 with the Grand Parade at 6pm. Families can join us at the Carnival Midway brought to us by local farmers and businesses. Generous sponsors helped make unlimited ride wristbands for the day for just $18. The midway will once again feature Arnold’s Amusements. Also, happening opening night will be Draft Horse Pulls on the Grandstands. Adults can stop by the Beer Barn and catch Scott Martin performing live and grab a drink.

Thursday’s schedule begins with the Youth Dairy show at 9am. The Carnival opens at 4pm. Our Carnival for Kids program will make $10 off unlimited wristband coupons available at the fair office beginning at 4pm, with 150 available. Regular price for unlimited bands will be $25. The Youth Rabbit show will take place at 5pm. Our always popular dodgeball tournament will happen Thursday evening beginning at 5pm as well. “Families do not want to miss our dodgeball event, it is the highlight of summer for many! And thanks to AIS Construction Equipment kids play free in 2022,” says Bill. The Beer Barn will be a happening place opening at 6pm and Trivia Night with Ben Geiger starting at 6:30pm.

Friday the fun continues with youth livestock and horse shows both beginning at 9am. The Carnival will open again at 4pm with the same Carnival for Kids program available as Thursday! Grab those discount coupons at the fair office starting at 4pm, only 150 available each day. Lake Odessa Fair will host its first ever 2s Sand Volleyball Tournament. Also, new this year will be a 90s Country Night in the Beer Barn starting at 6pm. LOF has partnered with Union Bank to bring this fun night with 90’s country star look alike contest, line dancing and more fun! Visitors can also cash SJO Motocross racing on the grandstand. Tickets are $10 advance and $12 at the gate for the show. For custom car owners, there will be a Car Cruise beginning at 8pm to dusk. Come show off you beauties!

Saturday will be a busy day with plenty for everyone. Noon the Lions Club will begin their free Kids Eye Screening program. At 1pm the Carnival Midway will open, be sure to grab a discount coupon at the fair office when it does. Again, thanks to the generous farmers and businesses in the community each day the fair offers 150 $10 off coupons. 1pm the Custom Car Show will also open on the west end of the fairgrounds. 2pm the Teen and Youth Volleyball events will start as well as a Kids Pedal Pull on the east end of the grounds. The Beer Barn opens at 4pm with adult drinks. 6pm the fun really begins with the Mega Raffle Party happening in the Fred Morris Building. A reverse raffle style event with the last ticket winning $3,000 and other prizes given out throughout the night. There will be live music, beer, yard games and plenty of fun. Truck and Tractor Pulls also return in 2022 to the LOF Grandstand. Tickets are $10 advance and $12 at the gate. Around 10:30pm a PFCU 75th Anniversary Fireworks display will take place for everyone to enjoy.

The last day is Sunday, but there is still a lot going on. An Adult 4s Co-Ed Volleyball tournament takes place starting at 9am. Roundhead Cornhole will host a cornhole tournament start at 12pm. The Carnival Midway opens at 1pm, and is your last chance to grab a discount coupon and enjoy Arnold’s amusements. At 2pm, we will have a Princesses on the Midway event for everyone to enjoy! Things wrap up Sunday night with the Derby Show presented by Unique Motorsports. Always a packed house for this event, tickets are $15 advance with a special 4:30pm advance ticket gate open. Gate tickets are also $15 but do not open for sales until 5pm.

“I cannot emphasize enough how excited we are for the 2022 Lake Odessa Fair. We are beyond grateful for the community and the sponsors who helped pick us up after a devastating natural disaster that 2021 was. We look forward to seeing everyone soon,” says Bill.
