Expectations are high for the Portland St. Patrick Shamrocks this year, as they are returning three seniors who have played all four years on the varsity. Lydia Meredith, Mara Schrauben, and Kaitlyn Russell are ready to lead a very talented team and they started off the season with a big win over the Lansing Christian Pilgrims, winning 67-38.

In the second quarter, Lydia again led the Shamrocks to a big lead, scoring 9 as the Shamrocks won the quarter 21-13, and took a 41-23 lead into the half.
It was a defensive effort after the half, with the Pilgrims running a box and one to try and slow down Lydia. In the fourth quarter, the Shamrocks further extended their lead, winning the quarter 15-8 and winning the game 67-38.
