Lady Raiders top Grand Ledge on Senior Night

Tuesday night was Senior Night for the Portland High School girls basketball team as they hosted Grand Ledge.

Seven senior players were honored for their final game at PHS. Those seniors are Paige Pung, Shalyn Dziewiatkowski, Ashley Bower, Ava Guilford, Alivia Densmore, Breckyn Werner, and Katelyn Stanton.

Portland coach Jason Haid even delegated the pregame speech and first quarter coaching duties to senior statistician Tycen Frohreip.

Portland defeated the Comets 52-39.

Bower led Portland with 19 points while Densmore added 12 points.

Grand Ledge was led by sophomore Alayna Armstrong who scored 26 points.

The Lady Raiders improve to 18-1 overall and are 6-1 in the CAAC White. They wrap up their regular season schedule when they travel to Eaton Rapids (8-9 overall, 5-4 in CAAC White) on Friday.
