Lady Raiders top ER to secure 3rd consecutive CAAC White Championship

On Friday night, the Portland High School girls basketball team traveled to Eaton Rapids to wrap up their 2021-2022 regular schedule.

The Lady Raiders picked up a decisive 70-21 win over the Greyhounds.

Portland senior Ashley Bower led all scorers with 21 points. Senior Doltza Oiartzabal added 13 points for Portland.

Scoring summary:

1st – 2nd – 3rd – 4th – Final

Portland 22 – 30 – 11 – 7 – 70

Eaton Rapids 3 – 6 – 3 – 9 – 21

The Lady Raiders finish the regular season with an overall record of 19-1. They finish CAAC White play with a league record of 7-1 and a share of the league championship. This is the third consecutive CAAC White title for Portland.

They will start MHSAA District play on Wednesday night at 6:00 PM at Ionia when they face the winner of Ionia and Hastings. If they advance to the district finals, that game is scheduled for Friday night at 7:00 PM at Ionia.
