Lady Raiders fall to Williamston

The PHS girls basketball team hosted the Hornets of Williamston on Friday night for their home opener. Despite outscoring Williamston in the fourth quarter of play 13-10, the Raiders fell to the Hornets 39-33.

Williamston was led by senior forward Leisya Newell who scored 13 points.

Portland was led offensively by junior Malia Thelen with 15 points, freshman Lilly Thelen with nine points, and sophomore Paige Spedoske with six points.

With the loss Portland moves to one and one for the young season. They host two games next week with Okemos (0-2) on Tuesday and Eaton Rapids (0-2) on Friday.
