Lady Raiders defeat Gladiators

On Tuesday night, the Portland High School girls basketball team hosted the Gladiators of Fowlerville in a CAAC crossover contest.

The Raiders jumped out to an early lead and secured a decisive 64-30 win.

Portland was led offensively by junior guard Malia Thelen and freshman guard Lilly Thelen who each scored 15 points. Sophomore guard Paige Spedoske added seven points. Sophmore forward Erica Russman added six points and freshman guard Summer Stopcynski scored five points.

Fowlerville was led by junior Angelle Haan with 10 points and senior forward Ava Kuch who scored eight points.

Portland 18 – 20 – 13 – 13 – 64

Fowlerville 4 – 10 – 11 – 5 – 30

With the win Portland improves to 9-6 overall, 4-1 in the CAAC White.

On Friday they finish out the week when they host Charlotte (4-11 overall, 0-4 CAAC White) in a league rematch. Portland defeated Charlotte 59-23 in their first meeting back on December 16th.
