Lady Raiders cage Orioles

The Portland High School Lady Raider basketball squad hosted the Orioles of Charlotte on Tuesday night in the teams third CAAC White contest of the season.

Portland defeated Charlotte 61-32.

Junior Ashley Bower led Portland offensively with 30 points, including three three-pointers. Junior Alivia Densmore scored nine points. Juniors Shalyn Dziewiatkowski and Breckyn Werner each scored six points for the Raiders.

Charlotte was led offensively by senior Abby Medler with 13 points. Junior Kennedy Gilding and freshman Lyndi Miller each had six points.

Portland 16 – 16 – 14 – 15 – 61

Charlotte 3 – 11 – 8 – 10 – 32

With the win, Portland moves to 3-1 overall and 2-1 in the CAAC White. They travel to Ionia on Friday night to take on the Bulldogs. Ionia was 0-3 before Tuesday nights contest with Eaton Rapids.
