Historic Fur Trade Encampment visiting Portland July 23rd

The Saginaw Voyagers will be setting up an authentic 1800’s Fur Trade encampment in Thompson Field in Portland. The Voyagers will arrive by vehicle, including their 34’ authentic Fur Trade Cargo Canoe, this Saturday, July 23, 2022, at approximately 4:00 pm. Camp set-up should be complete by 7:00 pm.

The Portland Public are encouraged to attend, examine the campsite, and enjoy the experience of authentic Fur Trade camp life.

The Voyagers will break camp Sunday morning and proceed to Lyons, where they will launch the canoe and camp and canoe, over several days, on to Lake Michigan.
