G&B Water Conditioning now serving Portland Area

Kevin Covert and Jeremy Russo recently opened G&B Water Conditioning. 

Russo told the Beacon, “We wanted to add an additional service that was water related and would benefit the community of Portland and other surrounding communities. After extensive research, we found that in Portland and surrounding areas, the most common well water related issues include chemical contamination such as PFAS (Per-and Polyfluoroalkyl Substance), high nitrate levels, arsenic, cloudy water, odors, and bad tasting water.”

Covert and Russo are currently equal partners to G&B Water Conditioning and are working with the owners of G&B Pool and Spa Supplies to purchase that business in by April of 2026.

Once the purchase is complete, Russo says, “we plan on continuing the outstanding pool and spa services that G&B has provided our community for 40 years.”

As for G&B Water Conditioning, Russo says, “Our focus is on the sale and installation of water softeners, reverse osmosis systems, salt sales, and whole house sediment filters. One of the many services offered will be a free in-home water analysis and consultation. We’ll provide a water treatment plan specific to family needs such as the reduction of dryness of skin, softer hair, better tasting water, and prolonging the life of appliances.”

Russo added, “85% of US homes experience hard water, only 30% are estimated to have water softeners installed. The water softening market is growing and we’re proud to bring it to our area. People are realizing the impacts of hard water and the benefits of having a water softener.”

He said, “We’ve had an amazing success with the launch of G&B Water Conditioning. Word traveled fast! Our customers have had extremely positive comments regarding our services and professionalism. We look forward to continuing our commitment to excellent customer satisfaction.”

The business is located at 826 E. Grand River in Portland. Hours are Monday-Friday 10:00-5:30 and Saturday 9:00-3:00.
