How does someone get started in hunting?
Are there hunting opportunities in the Portland area?
First Congregational Church, 421 E. Bridge St. in Portland, hosts a free hunting seminar on Tuesday, September 15, from 7 to 8 pm. The seminar will introduce new participants, young and old, to the sport. Guest speaker, Cpl. Ken Lowell of the Michigan DNR’s Recreational Safety Section, will explain the state’s new deer-hunting rules, share local hunting opportunities, and take questions from the audience.
The seminar is part of the church’s ongoing “Nature Therapy” program, now in its second year. The community-outreach offerings are designed to inform, inspire, and connect people with Portland’s unique outdoor recreational opportunities.
