On July 9th, 1966, two young people fell in love and began a journey that would become a great love story. Noel Thompson and Bruce Bennett had their wedding at St. Patrick Parish, and followed that with a reception at Noels parents’ house, Tommie and Bea Thompson.

Soon after, they were joined by their daughter Anne, and their son Mark. Throughout the years, both Noel and Bruce have been pillars of the Portland Community. Noel still volunteers up at the St. Patrick library, volunteered in the office, and still occasionally helps teachers in her spare time. Bruce still runs a Bike repair shop that has provided low cost (or free bikes when needed) to hundreds of children in Portland and the surrounding areas. Bruce has also run scoreboards, driven busses, helped with countless projects in the town and is always out and about cheering on our local athletes. Generous and giving by nature, these two are a shining example to our community.

Bruce and Noel are proud grandparents of Sloane and Shoshana Bennett. Please join in in congratulating them, and praying for many more years.
