Portland High School announces tentative commencement ceremony for July 16th

On Thursday, Portland High School announced plans for a tentative commencement ceremony to be held on July 16th.

Principal Christine Rockey said, "After meeting with the senior student council to review the student and parent survey responses, which were an overwhelmingly desire to have a real ceremony, not a virtual one even with social distancing guidelines, the student council has picked tentative dates for our graduation ceremony. While we do not know what the guidelines will be in July and/or August, the first date is July 16th with a back up date of August 13th. The Governor and her executive orders will determine what we are allowed to do so more information along with times will come out as we know them, but for now, put July 16th on your calendar for our 2020 graduation ceremony. We will let you know by July 1st if the 16th will work for our special day."
